Default Failed in a subject in MBBS

Hi... I recently got my MBBS degree from India and I am now preparing for the USMLE step 1... However, there is something that is bothering me... in my second year MBBS, I failed in microbiology... I was wondering if this would be a problem to get a residency even if I score very good marks, say 230+, in the step 1? thanx

Doubt it. A very good friend of mine failed 3 times in MBBS. Still managed to match in Internal Medicine and that too in a program of his choice. Do very well on your steps. And make sure you have a good story to tell IF asked about the failure! Good luck!

from what i understand, as long as your CV (step scores, research) is solid it shouldn't matter at all

Don;t worry about it....All that matters is scores, LOR's and USCE..
Make sure you apply to electives while you are studying.
