If you are applying to the 2013 match, then by the end of june 2012 you will be able to buy the new ERAS token from your oasis account. Then you will go to aamc/eras and register for your MyERAS online account and you will get an AAMC ID. Then you will go back to the eras section in your oasis and fill/print out the dsf form and send it together with your LORs, MSPE and copy of your medical school transcript to the address printed on that dsf form. This procedure is done usually as the first step in starting the application season to residency programs.

You could pay 90$ buy a token , but you have to pay 90$ this year for the Token.

@ heman466s the eras token available now is for the previous match, you can still buy it but you will need to buy another one for the 2013 match.

you don't need your aamc id now, you will get it later.

@ shima, you don't need to send yur evaluation form with the LOR.

Default To applicant guide

Hey Applicant Guide,

I have a question:

People have got waived LORs uploaded directly from the author of LOR.

How do I do that and what details do I need to collect about the person who is writing us the LOR?

I think knowing his email is essential, other info as address can be submitted too as available. This is from the ecfmg/eras site

Steps for Submitting LWP Requests in OASIS
  1. Login to OASIS, and click ERAS Support Services.
  2. Click Request a Letter of Recommendation.
  3. Once you have carefully read the disclosures, check the box next to I have read and accept the above disclosures. and click Continue.
  4. Read the instructions and click New LoR Request.
  5. Enter complete contact information for your letter writer.

Please note: It is very important to enter correct contact information for your letter writer so that he/she receives your e-mail request and so that ECFMG ERAS Support Services can contact the letter writer if necessary.
  6. Indicate the specialty you would like your letter writer to mention in the body of the letter. If you do not want the letter writer to include a specific specialty in the letter, please enter GENERAL.

A Note about Specialty-specific LoRs: If a letter writer has recommended you for a position in a specific specialty, it is not advisable to use that LoR to apply for positions in other specialties.
  7. Enter any comments or special instructions for your letter writer.
  8. Choose whether or not you waive your right to view the letter under the Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  9. Carefully check the information you supplied, and click Submit. This will send the e-mail request to your letter writer.
  10. If your request was submitted successfully, you will see a confirmation page. Click Ok on this page to return to the request home page.
Complete these steps for each LoR you would like to request from a letter writer. If you are applying to more than one specialty and would like your letter writer to submit a separate letter for each specialty, you will need to submit separate LoR requests.
You can track the status of your existing LoR requests from the request home page in OASIS. Each request will be listed in one of the following statuses:
NEW REQUEST You successfully submitted an electronic LoR request and an e-mail has been sent to your letter writer.
ACCEPTED BY LETTER WRITER The letter writer received the e-mail request and accepted ECFMGs disclosures for using LWP.
DECLINED BY LETTER WRITER The letter writer received the request e-mail but declined ECFMGs disclosures for using LWP. Contact your letter writer for inquiries regarding this status.
LOR UPLOADED The letter writer successfully uploaded an LoR to ECFMG ERAS Support Services on your behalf. You can also track receipt of your LoRs by ECFMG through the Verify Receipt of Documents page in OASIS.
