USA 2016 - Unmatched & Unsoaped ECFMG-certified fellows:

2016 - Unmatched & Unsoaped ECFMG-certified Physician fellows:

It was the roughest week of our lives but we have learnt very great lessons, and because of nature of the Physician is keep moving forward till the last PQRST - complex and after being ECFMG - certified we can't imagine our lives are not being US Trained Physicians, so we must move forward:

I have talked with Physicians who wrote the LoRs and friends who matched this year - the best suggestion is the save money for the coming year and take Step 3 than any other bullshit - Observerships, Hand-off Externships, Publications or etc. Just one month of this magical Externship in Chicago - 450 $ per week and + 1900,00$ malpractice insurance! Don't even waste your time and resources!

Called to all possible: NRMP, ERAS, ECFMG, FSMB - the good news with LoRs, MS, Photos are saved and automatically will be uploaded to the next coming season.

Paid and registered for the USMLE Step 3 - 830 $, filled and sent CID - Certification of Identity and notarized in my Bank for free of charge

I wish you all the best to turn the last stone called USMLE STEP 3 - FIP - Foundation of Independent Practice and ACM - Advanced Clinical Medicine!

Excited about the fact this will allow us Unsupervised Medical Practice ( just sickening bored with 2 months of Observership, when you do nothing except walking after as a shadow)

Let's stay together!

Thanks for the post. I am also planning step3, best option I guess. Just not sure about which 3 months should I choose.

When are you planning for step3?
Yes I will try for residency till I match In Sha Allah.

I was also preparing for step 3. But I do think one should get some USCE/observership focused in a place where you already fill criteria and past students of your med school went there.

For all the IMGs preparing out there even old IMGs. Though I did not match, it is possible to beat the stats and match. But you have to use everything in your power to increase your odds.

First don't do steps until you score 250 + in the practice nbmes. Scores are now becoming positively skewed distribution, no longer a normal bell curve. That's because people are learning to prepare better. That is usually the first filter.

All the best to everyone and I'll see you next year. We are better now because we experienced this and we will not be defeated. And the right place, the right fit is out there for us.

Hey is anyone doing the scramble? Do we have a chance?

Exactly, don't look back whatever happened it is already happaned and none of us can change it. There are so many problems in life and we can't solve them all together, one step at a time, so let's only focus on the things we can change. And this is Step 3

I just submit application with eligibility period of July-Sep, score report as usual as 3-4 weeks, with the help of God I have to get this done before August, and update LoRs if necessary and apply at day 1 of Sep 15 -

Keep the faith, budy!

Yesterday, I sent emails to all left-over programs - preliminary surgery and IM, only one survived the last available categorical OBG - was ready just to get in and be any type resident. Got 6-7 emails saying we are already full, today I have tried to reach them by phone. Most phones are already set to automatic voice message "Please don't call us, all positions are full and please don't leave a message, we are jacked up after 6000 calls and messages"

So, not-matched, not-soaped and not-scrambled

I am with you Guys... we have nothing else to do... now at least we know what are the things that we need to focus on and fill whatever gap we might have...

For me, my step 1 score is bad and I cannot change it...
Step 2 kind of okay!
Need to take step 3 with good score...

I have questions here if you can help me plz:

1- My LOR dated 2015... what are the chances that they could do something for the next match? I mean will they work or we need to get new edited LORs with new clerkship rounds?

2- Does Anyone know how to participate or edit a publication or any BS that can help?

Good luck to you all in the coming season.
