Planning How to schedule Steps so that I can apply for 2013 match?

Hi everyone,
I'm an IMG '12 graduate, preparing for step one right now 24/7 past 2 months. I plan to give step1 in Oct-Nov. Have not scheduled the test yet. As I was engrossed in studies these thoughts struck

1. If I give step1 at the earliest in October, how long will CK preparation take and when should I give CK

Or

Should I do externship/observership post-step 1 in order to apply for match in 2013. And is it possible?

2. In case, seeing my current position, if it is not possible to apply for 2013 match have to do it in 2014. How should I proceed in scheduling my test (step 1, CK, CS) dates and externship.

I know I just started but I want to plan my whole MLE journey so that I get time to prepare well for each step and everything falls in place later.

Please suggest what could be the best schedule for my Steps. I guess there are many people in dilemma as me.!!

Thank you in advance !!

I don't think you'll be able to apply for the 2013 match. You should at least get Step 1 and CK results by end of October to have some chances.

Therefore, you should aim for 2014 match.

I'd say finish Step 1 by October-November, then CS by December/January, then CK by March/April, then USCE during May-September 2013.

These can help

My step 1 score is 251/87.. In ur opinion what is the best time to take CS, knowing it will take 3 months results? I want to do USCE along with CS that's what is holding me back from applying for CS!

Hey rookie!!!

I'm also an IMG who's done with my Step 1. I'm targetting 2014 match and currently preparing for the Step 2CK.
The application process can be really overwhelming and I'm relying on online forums such as this as a guide. I'm plotting my road map and I'm still a little clueless as to how to proceed with everything. I plan to do one step at a time, focus on the review first but I know I need to look into applying for residency already.
So... what to do next??? What are the best materials to review? Do I go apply in ERAS already? Anybody, help us?
Thanks much...

Same here, I know few people in person who are too busy to guide. So, Relying on online forums for guidance! When will you take next step. I just started ck preps on snails pace! Looking for USCE so can do it along with CS.

How u doing? Any idea how to go with USCE?

Started reading MTB. I'm a nurse here in the States. Don't know if that will suffice for USCE. Just trying my luck and still gathering funds for the next steps and the application process. Yeah, it's frustrating having to ask people whom you know have already gotten in yet seem too busy to reply.
According to Fischer, we need not worry about the USCE. "Many, may future doctos obtain residency each yr as international med graduates without US experience. A high score on Step 2 Ck is also far more valuable... An "observership" or externship is of extremely inconclusive value..."
