Default Getting residency with observationship (without elective)

Hi... Has anyone got residency with observationship??
In fact I am really worried.. I have already completed my final year MBBS and I have not been able to do elective. So, I will have to do observationship. I just wanted to know what are my chances of getting residency with just an observationship.
Please someone reply me. I am very anxious.

I think you worry about this a lot as most of your posts have the same question. RELAX! You don't need electives to match. Sure they help. But if your have good scores and good LoRs from any form of clinical exposure, you are set!

No, I will be applying this year. I know 3 people who matched into IM thos year with average scores but excellent LoRs from observerships. So its the quality of the LoR that counts a lot more.

I didn't have any electives, just 6 months of observership...
I had 25 Interviews..

So the answer is Yes .

They look at your whole application!!

As others have said- they look at the entire application as a portfolio- scores, USCE, Research, YOG etc. Excellent LORs from observerships should be very helpful and cover up for lack of electives etc.
