Listening how important is your cv for residency?

As many IMG we know how important is the time we take for preparation thereby the gap time we make us doing this preparation can be filling with some research or keep working too in our own country while we still preparing for the USMLE
does anybody know how important is the research in our own country ? the NRPM count theses reasearch for our cv or at least for corvering the gap time we have?
There are others pathways to improve our cv ?

Arrow Of course it counts

Nothing is wasted. Even if you participated in as research assistant in a small research project it will count.

If you have some research publication in your name in a peer reviewed Medline indexed journal then I can safely say that will be as great as having research here in USA.
