Default Help and advise needed.

Good day. I am an IMG, and it has always been a dream to train in the US. I am now setting a plan for my USMLE timeline, in preparation for the possibility of training the US. So, my year of graduation was 2013. Since, I am from a country which requires 1 year of Post Graduate internship, I did it from 2013-2014. After Which I prepared for the PLE which I passed. In the 2015 I landed a Residency for Anaesthesiology in local hospital where I am from. Due, to my plans on preparing I was given release from the training which I was in for 7 Months. I am currently in Family Medicine Practice Based Training which has 1 Night Call, and 1 Out patient call, and doing moonlighting in other hospitals in my city. My plan of action for UsMLe is as follows. Take step 1 around November of this year. After which take Step 2 CK around March or April 2017. And hopefully be able to take Step CS by July or August if financials are good. If not I may take it early 2018 with Step 3 around prior to Match Season. I am giving time for preparations, and of course for me save some money to fund my exams and travel expenses, which includes visa applications and such. I am planning to get into Anesthesia or Family Medicine programs.
Will my date of graduate affect applications? And will the gap of taking the Step exams play any factors in Match applications?? And will my experience in local residency be a plus or a minus? Hope for some advise. thank you

2013 is not that bad as YOG. People who graduated in 2010 matched this year if they had good profile. Your plan looks good, only thing is if you give cs in August it might take a while to get your result and ECFMG certification. So try to be done with cs before June of the year you are planning to apply for the match as the result takes 2 months. Most important things are scores and LoRs. Try to do observerships and get good letters. Experience in local residency will always be helpful. Good luck

Thank you for the reply @saxo.... My problem is the money which I need to pay for my CS exam, and the tickets to flight to the US since, I cut a deal with my parents that they pay for my exam then I pay for my ticket and my pocket money to travel.... But I will keep that mind.

And on a side note is it fine to have Lors that arent us? I could get LoRs from my previous Program attendings for Anesth. Several from my current program and prev mentors such as the medical director for hospital i worked in will that suffice as Lors?

Yes people will want to see LoRs from your previous home experience. But the second most important thing after scores are good US LoRs. Try to get 1 or 2 US LoRs from clinical exposure in the US.

Another question is i will be starting for a part time slot as an ER physician once a week and will be hopefully having a 2 day slot at company clinic, will these be a good source also to beef up my CV?

Of course. People are looking to see if you have had meaningful clinical exposure since graduation, so any type of clinical experience will look good in the CV.
