Default I am IMG from Pakistan

Hello everyone .i have joined now.i graduated as MBBS from Pakistan in 2013. I did clinical internship in general medicine ..3 months, general surgery ....3 months...anesthesiology ....2 months.... Nephrology ....3 months....ob/gyne ....one month.
I came to NewYork in January .still I am not getting any way to gain some experience.i don't know how to apply for internship, extension or physician assistant .and my main query is ...back in my country we are allowed to wear face veil ...when I was in general surgery rotation,I used to wear veil with separate scarf n full sleeves OT kit .what about here?in USA laws, many people told me here there is no ban on face veil but doctors here say it is not allowed here in hospitals.what is actual information?i called Jamaica hospital human resource department .they say they assume there is no issue on employment but they didn't see any one with face veil and each hospital has different policy.she didn't have any appropriate answer. because if this is not allowed I have plan of going back to my country and pursue career there.i passed Fcps part one exam in general surgery there.how much score is needed for matching in residency program in general surgery?and please let me know if any observers hip/internship/extership/physician assistance in general surgery near queens,New York.

Hijab you will have no problem here, but wearing a niqab it will be almost impossible for you. I don't think many program directors will be able to get past the face veil even if it is technically is allowed. Why don't you search the rosters of surgery programs online and see if anyone is wearing a niqab.

I don't think there's a specific list, due to Surgery being such a competitive field. What I can tell you from some friends' experience is that you should stick with one program, try to do some years of research and secure a position. I know some guys from Peru (my country) that have matched in UTH and Henry Ford. Hope this helps!
