Question Applying without Step 2 CS Results?

Hello,

My friend is an IMG. He graduated this year. While working, he is preparing for Step 1. Although he has applied for step 1 , he is yet to take it. So i f he manages to Complete Step 1 & Step 2CK before September, what are his chances of being called for a interview?
He is planning to take step 2 CS after applying for the residency! What are his chances in the match this year?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

For IMGs chances significantly decrease when there is no Step 2 CS results in hand.

For example if you have Step 1 and CK and CS results and you got 10 interviews then that would decrease to 1 or 2 interviews if you have only Step 1 and CK.

Of course there are many other factors affecting the chances but we are talking here the mere aspect of missing the CS results.
