Default Need your sincere advice

Hey guys, I need ur advice.
I am an old IMG YOG 2012 in Jordan, GC holder, step1/2 l, 228/242, CS result pending. I have big gap in my CV, no clinical experience since my graduation, I used to work to support myself and my family. I wanna to apply IM. I am going to do observership for 1 month in August at Univ of Minnesota, and looking another observership for another month.
What is my change of getting IM residency, do u advice me to apply 2017 match, or wait for the 2018 match and do Step 3 and more USCE.
what excuse about the gap you think will make sense if I get an IVs?
How many programs I need to apply to increase my chance of matching?

Thanks

Hello Mahadgurey,

I Think you should apply this year, another year decreases your changes to get into residency. Obviously, you should look for observerships! And if you have a GAP tell them why is the gap, if it is clinical experience in your country is not a gap. I think you should apply this year, your steps are fine and you are applying to IM.
IMGs apply to +100 programs, do your research, look all the programs in ERAS and look for IMG friendly programs.

Good luck!
