Default Am i rushing to apply?

Hello everyone. Thanks for reading my post. I am sitting on the fence regarding applying this year. I am an IMG ,
YOG 2011
Step 1 210
Step2CK 230
Step 2CS Pass
ECFMG certified
NO USCE.
NO observerships
Letter writers from my country and 1 US physician with whom i worked on a research project
Aiming for IM.
Need visa,J1
I have 1 CR and another in-press publication where i was the umpteenth author. I have a gap which i can account for.
I would like to know my chances from those who have walked the path before me. My fear is that CV may be too thin and i could jeorpadize my chances if i apply now. On the other hand my YOG is now quite advanced,i noticed most programs cut off at 5 years. I do not have a firm plan for a research project but willing to try
QUESTIONS
1 Would it be wise to wait out another year or 2 to do more research?
2 How much does YOG matter.
3 How far would an observership take my application
4 If i apply now and fail to match, how difficult is it to reapply
5 Would this CV be strong for any specialty? FM? I have heard that you can apply into 1 specialty and change the following year after getting into the system, how far true is it?
6 How can a CV like this be strengthened
I am really desperate and any piece of advice would be helpful. One of my critics said WAIT and another one said GO FOR IT! What would you do if u were in my shoes?

Sincerely,

I think you can try to apply this year. And if you don't get matched, try to do research in the following year. I don't know how serious they are about YOG but I think it's definitely a limitation so don't waste time.

Default Good luck

2 yrs ago I was in the same position, my concer was YOG and less USCE. I still applied, and didn't match. Yes! It was a huge investment which I simply wasted but then after that I came back with much more stronger application, included 8+ months of USCE, reasearch, publications, volunteer and I matched.
It's all a risk your scores are pretty decent it would be great if you could add atleast a month of usce and you still have time just see if you can.
If need help finding one, let me know I have few contacts.
And if you still want to apply with out it, I would say go for it, just do it on time the very first day send out your application and hope for the best. It was my luck that it didn't happen first time, may be your luck play a different role.
After all it's an investment, you will spend today and pay it back tomorrow.
Wish you luck.

Its good to hear from someone who has been through my situation. Indeed my hesitancy is based on finances which i cannot afford to waste at this point. I would rather spend on boosting the CV & hope for the best next year.
Just out of interest, which specialty did you match in? And yes,i need the contacts for Clinical experience.

I want to apply for MATCH next year but I don't have any USCE. I have read this thread and notice that you may have some connections. May I ask which specialty are you in? If you can help out, where do these connections locate? I really appreciate for your reply!
