Probability What are my chances?

hello
I am IMG with green card , 2008 graduate
step 1 226
step 2 245
passed cs
no attempts
three month observership with 3 US LOR
would like to apply to pediatrics and IM
can any one please tell me how many programs do I need to apply for to get matched?
and what are my chances to get matched espically I am 2008 graduate?

your creds are good , plus GC ........ you can get into IM for sure ...

No of programs to apply ?= will never be fixed. you never know what competition you are facing this year .. typically people apply to 100 + programs ......would say apply to as many as you can afford ..... if you get loads of interview you can reject them , but its better to have interviews in hand rather than finding it to be a tough year, later application wont help you much ......

I am geografically restricted , do you think it is a good idea to apply to two specialities in the same hospital? what do you suggest?

Hey buddy , I am still a student and have not done with all my steps so please take my advice with a pinch of salt ...... from what i have read on forum many have said that the PDs can know if you apply to two different fields in the same college , and they say its a bad idea as they will know that you are not really interested in their field so I dont know if they really do come to know about it , but if they do you lose your chances in both IM and Peds so that wont help ....... I would say since you are restricted to a location ..check the list of colleges , then check if they take IMGs for IM and Peds ...... If you find a IMG contact that person and ask for advice , a few may help specially if they are from your nationality ......
