Probability To apply early w/o CK or Apply late with CK score?

Hey guys I know this question has been asked since the beginning of mankind but I really need to know so I can get a better idea of what's best. Basically I will be applying to about 200 programs mainly Psych and IM this year for 2017. (Overkill and expensive I know but hey, in the end getting that residency is worth it!).

So here's what I have so far:

-Carrib Med School Student (IMG)

-US Born Citizen (No Visa issues)

-Step 1: 212

-3 year gap due to father's murder, divorce, work and financial issues (still passed Step 1 regardless of my difficulties, and I'm sure people would understand my gap: life happens....but in the end I never gave up and pushed against the gradient!)

-Step 2 CS: Pass 1st time

-2-3 LORs

-No research (but will be doing Psych research after September 1)

I am going to be taking Step 2 CK at September 16. My scores should come by October 7th or 15th. Now here's the question: Should I apply for residency @ September 15 without a CK score, or apply Early-Mid October with a CK score? Any good help would be appreciated.

Hey man, sorry about what you've been going through the past couple of years. Now looking ahead, I do know that you can update your score report with new scores through ERAS. I would just submit your ERAS on time and then do the update when your new CK scores available.

If a program starts reviewing its applications before October 15, then you would have missed the first wave of reviews if you had waited. If a program starts reviewing applications after October 15 then your score report update would have given them all the scores anyway. So in that way I think you only stand to gain without much to lose. Good luck
