Fire Thread need an advice, please

Hi, i'm an IMG, requiring a visa.
step 1- 206
attempt in CS (purely may be because of my over confidence)
CK- not yet given
1 lor from USA attending
graduated in 2016.

So now what should I do? Should I continue with USMLE or its waste of time and money? I know no one can give an accurate solution but please I need your opinions from your or your seniors/ friends experiences.

Lot of competition over there and I wanted to apply in IM/ Neurology mainly. Is it possible? I searched many universities and most of them need step 1 score > 210 and no attempts in steps. So by this is it clear that I don't have any further chances?

If I want to get into residency in USA what should I do now? Which field I should opt? I can even go with FM but not with pediatrics/ psychiatry.

So lengthy post may be but please pals, advice needed very badly.

Thank you

I think you know that its going to be really hard (if you) decide to try your luck for residency. I know people who had scores in 210-220s who matched last year but I think the deal breaker is the cs attempt (particularly for IMGs). If you manage to get good scores in ck and step 3 (above 240s) and build a strong application, that might improve your chances. Also you would need strong US letters. The competition is insane but people with lower scores and attempts do match when they have a good overall application and they have killed the interview. Your letters should ideally be tailored for your application. Using IM lors for FM is no good and will be considered by programs that you are applying for FM as back up. Also peds and psych are getting much difficult to match compared to previous years for IMGs. Look at the nrmp 2016 data. Good luck with the process.
