any help ??????????????
Only if a PGY-2 position opens up in the categorical track (someone has left or been terminated from the program) and you perform very well and impress the program director. Few programs require applicants for pgy-2 as well and its crucial that the PD makes a strong case for you. Also, if they are impressed by your work, they could take you for categorical spot next year but that would mean you will have to do the internship again. Transitional and prelim are generally are a lot harder to get into (unlike surgery prelim spots) compared to categorical residency.
