Default Applying without the LoRs assigned?

Hi guys,

I have a question:
My application is ready but my letter writers have uploaded the letters late and they are not still approved so I am not able to assign them into my application( it usually takes 1-2 weeks to approve).
what do you suggest for me, I would better to wait to assign them into my application and then submit the application later than other applicants or to submit the application on time without the letters and email the programs to notify them afterwards ?
I would appreciate your comments and help!

Actually, that is not true. Programs are not notified instantly when any part of your application is updated. If they have downloaded your application without the letters, once the letters are added and assigned you will have to ask them to take a look at your updated application. They will have to download the updated application again to view the lors.
My suggestion would be to wait if its 4-7 days after September 15th. Because once submitted, lors usually only take 1-2 days to be released. (though its mentioned as 1-2 weeks) That way you do not have to go through the process of asking programs to download your updated application. However if its going to be much longer (2-3 weeks) to submit the lor then apply now and inform the programs later.

Right from the mouth of a program director
There is no more downloading applications with ERAS--everything is there when the program logs in, and everything is updated in real time. In your scenario, on the 15th programs would see two LORs, and on the the 16th they'd see three. There is a link we can click on to see just new documents. Please keep in mind that with the vast majority of applicants submitting on Sept 14/15, it is virtually impossible for programs to review every application on the first day, so be patient

That's new Info to me because I was told programs download applications by a PD as well.

Checking sdn, looks like you are right. Apparently they are in the process of phasing out downloading applications since last year but the PD I know (from a community hospital) told me last month about how they download applications a week after 15th. Weird.

May be they all follow different schedules as per their convenience and philosophy.
I am thinking of submitting my applications with two LORs only. I hope they speed up the upload and release process.

Maybe. Either way, I find it hard to imagine that programs would be instantly notified when any part of the application is updated. Even with programs not downloading applications, I think we have to ask them to check out our application again if anything new has come up. It does not seem logical for programs to keep checking each application over and over again even if its updated in real time.
