Info When to apply?

My step 1 score 217; step 2 CK 216; Failed CS May 4, 2012 (20, June results) in data gathering otherwise everything passed with high performance.

IMG in 2008; Green Card Holder;

Worked for 18 months as a technician in Diagnostic Cardiology Private Facility with some of top cardiologists in NY, and top 10 in US.

My duties in the Clinic: History taking and Physical examinations of the patients before dg procedure and all patients note after procedure was done; EKG interpreting; All regular and nuclear stress tests (exercise or pharmacological type) performing; dobutamine stress muga; tilt table test; T wave test; Holter monitoring test and holter readings; Cardiac Pet Scan with dipyridamole or dobutamine; etc etc.....Most of the tests done by myself sometimes under cardiologists supervision..

I could get 4 LOR from different cardiologists there, who are attending physicians in a top NY hospitals!

I am planning to take again CS in July 2012, and results are going to be ready by October 3rd if I pass hopefully....

My questions are:
1.To apply on September 15 with one CS attempt and fail or after October 3rd, hopefully with CS passed in second attempt?

2. How are my chances to match in 2013?

3. How you consider my medical experience in US ( USCE; observership....or...etc etc)?

Please for answer and suggestions!

Thank You very much! Waiting for your response ASAP!

You graduated in 08 and then did 1.5 years in a clinic. Was that recently? And did you do anything else for the other 3.5 years that you could put on your resume?

I think your scores are OK. A CS failure is a red flag. But there seems to be a few posters on this site who claim it is not a show-stopper. I don't think so either.

You need to apply very widely, anyway.

I can't tell you how to designate your work in the clinic. You are certainly more than an observer.

Default To eduardo!

I have worked until January 2011, when I quit my job to start prep for USMLE step 1! But U did not answered on my q, regarding when to apply:

On sep 15 without CS only with attempt or after oct 3 after hopefully passed CS in second attempt.

Thank you anyway for your response

All the best

Wait until you get the result. Programs can't even begin to download applications until Sept. 15. Your small delay in applying (Sept. 15th. to Oct. 3rd) will hardly matter.
