Listening How strong is my application?

Hi Sabio !!!

I want to get an idea about how strong my application is, so that I can decide on how many programs I should apply and what type of programs (university/university affiliated vs community programs). I am interested in IM only.

USMLE scores : 236/250/CS pass, 2 years since graduation, permanent resident, 5 month observership in OP of a non-teaching hospital, 1 month observership in neuroscience department (in-patient) of a non-teaching hospital, 1 month observership in private clinic of a pediatrician, 3 US LORs (2 strong and 1 mediocre).

Please suggest me about how many programs and what type of programs I should apply.

Apply to 120-150 programs.

Make it a mixed bag of community and university.

Out of the 120-150 application, reserve 20-40 backup applications (such as psychiatry, FM, peds).
