Question Year of Graduation cut off?

Hi all,
I have a doubt regarding the year of graduation cut off. Few universities applicant requirement is less than 5 years since graduation.

I graduated in October 2007 but got my Degree in Jan. 2008, so will the 5 years cut off thing counts from Jan 2008 and since i am applying September this year 2012, does that make me 5 years since graduation and safe to apply OR more than that??

Thank you

i also graduated in 2007 and got degree in 2008 but my year of graduation is july 2007....i dnt know if i cross that limit but still if i start considering programs which dnt ve 5 yrs limit i dnt ve any choice then.....
so im applying to programs which atleast re considering 5 yrs limit...
this is one reason im ving problem choosing programs for FM esp. cos most prog of FM require 2 or 3 yrs limit....
so dnt know wt to do...
i contacted one program of fm if they will consider my application...this prog had 2 yrs limit and they told me they re going to put filter and so there is no use of applying to their program....
i ve posted so many times abt this problem but i vent got any satisfactory answer to this...

Depends on the Program. Some just put in filters, some actually check the applications..

Sabio, Steptaker or someone who has the answer, could you please clarify this for us? I have just posted the same but someone posts it basicly every week it seems. Searching the internet just worsened my confusion. So, If my diploma is issued in July 2007, it is 5 year until I submit my application in Sept 2012 but 6 year until the match and the actual start date. WHICH ONE DO THEY COUNT?

I am sure thats not the case. I mean i am no expert to comment on it but what we are talking here is few programs asked for YOG cut off as one of the application requirements. So, if it says less than 3 years, then i won't waste my time and money applying there. Thats it!
