Question Residency in your own country

Hello everybody!

I have a question regarding ERAS application. I completed a residency in my own country which was unpaid. My question is: Should I fill out all the rotations separately or just as a residence describing the rotations together? Is this a volunteer experience (the residency was not paid) or work experience?

Thank you.

Interesting.... never heard of such thing.
If it's unpaid ERAS tells you to put it under volunteer experience.
Do you actually have proof of it? Do have have a LOR from your PD back home? You could elaborate under the section and explain as the process in your country is different. Just a thought.

Yes, I have an official transcript and a diploma. To begin a residency in my country, first you should begin a regular work as a doctor and then apply for a residency. If you are working as a pediatrician you can apply for pediatric residency only. That is why the residency is not paid (because you are working at the same time).

Ok, I don't know about that. It seems weird to me.
But my best advice is always: ask them, I mean ECFMG or ERAS and explain. They're pretty helpful!
Good luck!
