You cannot use both. You have to use one of them only, preferably MSPE.

Default Thank you sabio !

So it does not matter about the time , because is 3 years old (2009).

Why you say that is okay to use one , I thought that are different things for example the dean letter of recommendation (LOR) is like the regular LOR that you get after an observership, I mean say good things about me and the MSPE is more like chronological report.
Also the dean LOR will be submitted as regular LOR together with the rest of letters

Please help me to clarify that, because I don't know what to do.

Thanks

Dean Letter is not a regular LoR and is not counted as LoR.
If your dean wrote you a recommendation letter (paper title does not say Dean Letter) then you should name is LoR not Dean Letter.

Before this year, the ECFMG was asking IMGs to submit either MSPE or Dean Letter, both of them the same just some schools do it as MSPE and other schools do it as Dean Letter.

This year, the ECFMG is asking IMGs to no longer send Dean Letter, they want to name it MSPE.

If you are still not sure of what am saying, I recommend you read the official web page here
http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/applicants...ents-mspe.html specifically paragraph number six in that page.

Default Thank you sabio again!

Yes , I have a recommendation letter from the dean of my medical school that the title say To whom it may concern ; and also I have MSPE which the tittle say Medical student performance evaluation.

So , my two questions are :
1) Is there any problem because both of them are old (2009)? . Note :Because in the past I requested those .

2) Can I submit the recommendation letter of the dean as a regular LOR together with the others .

THANK YOU SO MUCH SABIO !

I hope I can get your answer.

Yes. You can submit the Dean LoR as a regular LoR (but do not name it Dean letter, name is LoR in ERAS).

2009 LoR is not good, you should get a newer one.

2009 MSPE is OK, because the MSPE is usually given right after graduation and it does not get updated over time.
