Certificate Best LoR Combination

I am an IMG. My credentials are 241, 238, pass in step 1, 2 & cs respectively.

I have more than 4 LORs from US Physicians viz. Cardiology (2), Hematlogy and Oncology (1), Pulmonary and Critical Care (1), Interventional Radiology (1), EM (1).

Since none of the above are from IM per se, I wanted to know whether I should use the letter from my HOD from my medical school (Nepal) or should I use all US physician LOR.

Thanks in advance

If you are fresh graduate (less than one year since graduation) then use the med school LoR otherwise use all US LoRs.

I suggest the cardiology, critical care and the ER LoRs, they will be really useful for IM application.

I would suggest you to get some IM LORs, I worked under a cardiologist but asked him to write me a LOR mentioning IM. Try to get them waived, they seem more genuine that way.

Waived or not does not make any difference trust me on this.

Also the LOR you have are perfect.

Disagree. My IM attending was a PD, and stated not having it waved seemed "odd" and isn't seen in the same light as waived.

1 Program Director Give me waived LOR and said the same speel. But all the other Doctors I worked with give me future dated LOR's. So I do not know.
