Search Finding programs in FREIDA

hi

1. can anyone pls tell me what i am doing wrong, every time i try to save a program in my freida file it replaces a pre-existing one, so it is virtually useless to me. after hours of searching i have only managed to save one program.

2. theres this program i saw that says residents need yearly re-appointment. are such programs safe and what may a resident do to lose his appointment the following year.

3. how does one know how good a certain program is beyond university programs. i mean for community programs can you use bed size as a factor and what bed number?

4. finally i know this question has been asked so many times, but i am really have a problem choosing programs. step 1 259, step 2 252, CS pass first attempt, YOG 2010, green card holder, observership in private practice 6 months, average LORs nothing exceptional. what to do please

thanks.

to answer my first question, it appears that unless you are an ama member any information you store in your freida folder will be available only during your current online session. to become an ama member you have to pay.

so i guess it is best to have a small book where you write your programs and their 10 digit codes for easy reference next time

#2. Every residency program in the country appoints you on an annual basis, meaning when your yearly contract expires at end of PGY1/2, they renew it again the following year for 1 year. If your performance is not good, they will release you and not renew your contract.

This is for both the residents & hospitals protection in case hospital gets a terrible resident, or the resident ends up at a program he doesn't want to be at (amongst other things) they can get "rid" of each other.

#3. This is a good question, to ask PD's on your interview. There's honestly no way to assess programs other than community/university affiliated community/university.
