Listening Rumors Said It's very difficult!

I'm a Pakistani and I've done M.B.B.S. in 2008. I want to get a residency in U.S. by doing Steps but people have been telling me that it's useless to do steps because it's really hard to get a residency in U.S.. these days!
Is this true that U.S. has no more residencies for foreign medical graduates?
I really want to be focused on my prep for Step one but these rumors are giving me second thoughts!
So will you people tell me whether these rumors are true or not based on you experiences and secondly I don't have a green card? Does that matter?

It has always been difficult for IMGs to get into residency in USA!

Has there been a change between 2012 and previous year matches? find the answer here
IMG matching in 2012 remained the same

Will there be a drastic change in 2013 matching for IMGs? Nobody knows but I personally think it won't change.

So if you have strong determination and is ready to work hard on getting high scores and have some money and time to spend then I think you can do it.

If you have a Green Card it makes matching easier but that does not mean those without Green card cannot match.
