Calendar Old LoR Dates!

Hello Friends

I have an old LOR of 2011, I find it strange how should I ask my attending on writing a LOR of 2012 when i did the Elective in 2011?

will not attendings insist on writing dates when they originally wrote the LOR or when we did the Elective?

And how does changing the date on the LOR help ? as my CV will show that my Elective was done in 2011 ....... so shouldn't the date be in 2011 on the LOR?

any idea anyone and forum staff?

You are absolutely right.

There is no point in updating the date of LoR, what matters here is the date you've done the USCE.

For perfect matching chances, PDs want to see what you have done most recently, therefore an USCE (the LoR thereof) that is done in 2012 is better than 2011. So if you have an LoR that's specific for 2012 then use it as it's better than 2011 one but there's no point in updating the 2011 LoR as the experience actually happened in 2011.
