Question Is it easier for non-US IMGs to match in Family Medicine?

I wonder if it's easier for non-US IMG to match in family medicines, because matching in internal medicine has become increasingly competitive, even for high scorers. However, I also know that there's a trend in family medicine programs to match GC holders or US citizens.

What do you think about that?

FM , many of the programs require 6 month USCE and majority of them 12 month USCE, is more given to the Carib-IMG. IM is our shot, dont worry go ahead.

Wait, but I always thought that FM was way less competitive than IM.

Is this still not true? Why the 6 months of USCE?

Is this the same for US citizens?

I know, but if you review the programs criteria, they require 6-12 month of USCE and they dont count externship or observersip as USCE.

Is basiclly given to US-IMG with USCE or Canadian who went to Carib.

IM is easier to get, even though is harder to reach. It makes no sense but is the truth, ask around you will figure out your self.

BUTTTTTTT

if your citizen of US or GC holder the programs that dont sponsor visa , and there is like 50% of FM , they require like 3 month of USCE or 2 month but the majority require 6 and 12 month.
