Calendar Should I apply this year or next year is OK!

Hi friends..
Well I am just confused whether I should apply this year or not?? I am done with my step 1 and I did good in that (243).

I am preparing for step 2 ck rt now and was planning to apply September 2011 for 2012 match.. as I guess I won't be able to complete both steps (CK and CS) before October. I completed my undergraduate degree in January 2010. and I heard they give preference to fresh graduates for residency...so just wanted to know how true this is and if I apply in September 2011 ..am I still considered a fresh graduate or not??

Hope someone can help me on that ..

Warning! Don't miss this year

The cut off is usually 3 years. So when you apply in 2011 you are still regarded as fresh graduate.

But here's my advice for you.

Finish the CK and CS as soon as you can and apply this year. You can start applying right after the CK and you can tell them in the interviews that you'll do the CS or you've done the CS and waiting for the results.

You have great chance this year don't miss it.

I agree Agreed

As Quadro told you. You will still be considered "fresh" graduate if you apply in September 2011.

If your CV has no USCE then I recommend you finish you CK and CS early in 2011 and then you start doing observerships/externships/research during summer 2011 so that you apply strongly in September 2011.
