Default match prospects

I am an old IMG , Step 1 226/97, 2CK-227/99, CS passed, Step 3-216. Passed all exams within 1.5 yrs while I was working fulltime in Canada in paramedical job.I have no USCE. Any idea, what my fate will be?

LOW, U need USCE. these days evryone has your score, but 3 mont USCE and research in US

I got one spot in Jan in Toledo IM prog, I m trying to get in few more before that

The prob is really scores dont say much. If one is applying for OB, a good USMLE score wont show that you can do a Pap smear, or have seen a DE in a late term abortion, but a USCE in OB/Gyn will show that.

The medical system here works even diff from that in other western countries like the UK. Someone applying for surgery in the US would need USCE, even after working as a surgeon in the UK, because the trauma in the UK is diff from the US, due to gun laws.


Most PDs dont want your 1st few weeks of residency to be spent understanding units, or even the US system, they want one to get right down to business.
