Default Am I too late for the 2013 match?

I recently got my step 1 score. I plan on taking my ck late october 2012 and have cs exam scheduled for Nov 15, 2012. I have not done any US extenship yet, hoping to do that after my cs exam. I plan on doing step3 in January. Is it possible for me to apply for next the 2013 match despite the fact that i will be writing my step 2 after september 15, will it be too late for this match???? Please help me i really need advice.

A lot of Programs require you to be ECFMG certified just to apply, others don't. You have to do the research and find out by yourself.

I was in a similar situation last year, with my CS in January and didn't apply.

Also, if you need step 3 for visa, January is probably too late.
Also, you can't apply to step 3 without your ecfmg certificate which will take a while after your test in November (results+certificate+holidays).

It's up to you and you can try but I'm not sure if it's worth spending the money. Depends on your step 1 score.

No USCE is going to be a disadvantage, too....

Star YES

If u r an IMG, then yes, it would be a little too late IMO.
The thing is, u can go for it, but u'll be spending thousands of dollars on the application with a little chance of matching..but in the end, its all upto, if you think its worth taking the risk, then go for it, but do remember that 99.9% programs have mentioned that they require 3 LORs minimum for applying, if u don't have them, u will get filtered out..
If i were you, i would wait till next year, when my application would be strong enough to apply to majority of the programs that are IMG friendly.

Thanks for the advice.
Do i have to have my step 3 results in time for the match if i need H1B visa or can i have it before residency starts? What about for J visa?
And is it possible to do USCE later eg december then update ERAS?
Sorry i have so many questions. I just so badly needed to get into residency next year, so i thought i should get advice on whether or not i have a small chance.

Thanks for all the honest advice guys. One of the reasons why i so badly needed to get into residency next year is that i graduated in 2008, worked in my country for 3-4 years, then started studying usmle. I am worried as to whether or not being an old graduate will work against me if i wait till next year???

I don't know all that. No clue about visa issues, sorry.
Getting USCE that late..., not sure if that's going to help as a lot of the deadlines are earlier. I guess you could update ERAS or contact the Programs directly but I'm not sure anybody is going to see that.
By the way, I'm a 1999 graduate and didn't apply last year because of all this. Yes, it's an issue but it also depends on the rest of your credentials!
Good luck!

Thanks. Its comforting to hear that you graduated in 1999 and last year you decided to wait a year for similar reasons. Thanks, after considering all this advice i have decided to wait till next year so that right now i can just concentrate on doing well in my remaining steps, ck,cs,3, then after that do USCE for three months and get 3 LORs minimum so that come September 15 next year i will be totally ready.
