Question When to register in NRMP

When we need to register in NRMP? How much will it cost?
How long it will taken to send the scores by ECFMG? when we can do that? Is it after Sept 15?
Do we need to pay for that also?

May be silly questions.....but plz reply..

Registration to NRMP starts day after tomorrow on September 1st, 2012.

The registration fee is $50.

The registration will stay open until February 20, 2013. But if you register after November 30th 2012, you will pay extra $50 (total $100).

Make sure you use exactly the same AAMC ID that you have in ERAS.

For full time line of the NRMP check their official page here
http://www.nrmp.org/res_match/yearly.html

The NRMP will automatically pull your status from ECFMG periodically every two weeks. You don't need to pay for that.

@steptaker... what do u mean by "automatically pull your status from ECFMG periodically"? does that mean that it will update if you are already ECFMG certified?

I'll still be having my Step 2 CS on Sept 14. Is it a good idea to register right away, or wait until im done with my CS exam?

It does not matter, whenever you have the CS result it will be reflected in your NRMP status in a maximum of 2 weeks.

I see. But what do u think is the posible reasons why others would register late? I don't get why they would still wait for the price to go higher, unless they are still waiting for something?
