Question IM Primary care track?

I was told that it is more close to FM that IM
Even board certified in FM not IM
Is it true
Can take nephrology or any IM fellowship??

(% varies by program)
PC track: 70-80% outpatient, 20-30% inpatient rotations , practice mainly as clinician
categ track: 70-80% inpatient, 20-30% outpatient, practice mainly as hospitalist
FM & IM pc track are actually similar, only FM has peds & OB.. IM primary care track is like FM in a way that your a primary care provider & you focus your practice in clinics, but your still IM certified.
IM pc track can still do fellowships, but IM categorical track is a better option if you wanna go to fellow as you have more inpatient than outpatient rotations. also categ tracks have slightly better chance of getting in fellowships.

in eras (search program tab), some programs have both track(PC & cat) in the program's page when you click it. so that would be $25 for both if you select/click the two tracks.
but in some programs, the two tracks are separate & that's when you have to pay 25 each..

Are you sure about that, I mean the paying? I thought you pay per program and also per track?!

yeah. you pay per program accdg to aamc/eras policy. (though still havent seen my invoice)
some programs have 2 tracks that you can select but still under one program ID#, so considered as one program. some programs have different program ID# for each track, so its considered 2 programs 25 each..

dr shima also said the same about these fees..
