Help Low scores with research experience

I am an old IMG and have very low scores of step1 and step 2, both between 200 and 210. It seems I don't have any chance at all. I have a long history of research and have bunch of research publications and also a grant before. I still want to give it a try. I am waiting for CS results and if passed, the ECFMG certificate will be ready in early-mid Nov. Do you think I should still apply for matching in 2013? or just give up? Very depressing. If I try, what specialty should I try, I was a pediatrician long time ago in my country and have been in hematology research for a long time. Please give suggestions. Thanks.

peds have lower score requirements & being a practicing pediatrician in your country will def be a plus to your application.. also FM has lower scores but mostly requires GC holders & 6-12mos USCE, if you have one you cud also try FM.. dont lose hope. i knew some old imgs, got match given the situation same as yours..
about applying early mid Nov, dont have answer for that.

Please check the link below.
12 Years since graduation, do I have a chance
Though your situation is different from the link, idea is that there is chance for everyone. Your research experience and previous residency will go a long way in getting you residency. Hopefully you can make it this time, but sometime applications which are incomplete (eg.pending results) are not considered, so in such a case (God forbids) you can apply next year with better chance of matching.
