Info Community or university affliated community program?

I am an IMG. fresh graduate
LOW step 1 score-215, CS first attempt pass.
8 weeks of electives/hands on clinical experience.
Pending CK results(will get it on sept26)
I am interested in IM. need a little help with my program list.

1. I know I dont stand a chance in university programs because of low score,
which ones should I include maximum in my list.. community or university affiliated community programs?

2.. am I right when Im thinking that I should apply when I get my CK result?
firstly because of low step 1 score I dont want to get filtered. also, it would be pointless to spend lacs if I get low CK score, I would rather take up some research/take step 3 and apply next year. what do u guys suggest?

kindly help!

yes your plans are right.
1. dont mind which more to apply, just apply as long as its IMG friendly. its much more cost efficient that way.
2. yes apply when you have complete scores, or else you will get filtered. yeah if you get low ck, it can be boost with step3 & research,etc..

Thanks. 1. what is the best possible way to know if a program is IMG friendly?
2. How much percentage of IMGs is good enough to consider a program? I have seen various random lists on the internet mentioning percentage of IMGs in the program(and it includes Caribbean students too) also, resident lists are missing in 90% of the program links.. otherwise it gives a better idea.

take a look at their current residents' list.
no, carribean imgs are different from IMGs elsewhere. if there are carrib imgs, it doesnt mean its img friendly.
i say more than 2 imgs is safe.. if it is less than 2, there might be a chance that they have connections or there score is >260 thats why they match at those programs.
if there's no list, you can email them. iv'e read a post somewhere here (dont know the link) showing a very good & polite way of asking for it..

hey, when you say fresh graduate is it within 2 years of graduation??if so i will easily say, wait for 1 year, get some research under your belt...late CK scores may hurt..7-8 months research will give you an opening into the university programme and definitely an iv in the university you are doing research(considering you are doing research in an IMG friendly uni)...low step 1 score(215)..will not come in way if you get contacts and you know research can get you some solid contacts..
