future-doc.net reviews/edits and it's cheap, only 175 for now as its a new company. it will probably go up soon. i have tried it myself and one thing i can say to my statement - UNIQUE.

I don't think these companies should be used. the PS should reflect YOUR personality even if it is not perfectly written. I think on the interview you should be showing the same style you were in the PS to be authentic. I had an american friend who instead of correcting mistakes (what I asked from him) kind of rewrote the whole thing. I'm not using his version simply because it's not me..

yup re-writing the whole thing is not the way. totally agree with you on that. if your very fluent in both writing and speaking and grew up in US, then they are just a waste of money.

that's why when using this companies you should draft it first yourself. they just re-arrange, find appropriate wordings and makes it sound good.

not to be boastful, but i do write very good and im not really cool with this companies too. but i've noticed that most people(writers & journalist background) of my culture commented it was good, while people here in US that had read it said it needs a little tweek and sounds average. so i decided to take chance with an editing company, and luckily i found a good one. my statement's still the same, it just sounds good & appeals to american culture better.

every essay or letter we do has a sound or tone to it, we are applying to US residency so it is must be in-tune with theirs for it to be catchy to them. coz what is okay or relevant for us, may not be relevant or interesting to an american PD. (just my 2cents )

i was just suggesting since sandris31 ask for a professional editing.

These guys are really fast (came back within a day). They are professional editors and they did a good job with both my friend's and my PS.
You can try them. Its only $30-40 depending on your word count.
