Default Observership - Requires NOT be seeking U.S. medical residency, why is that ??

Hello Everybody

I'm looking for observership, but this hospital's website ; one of their requirements is "NOT be seeking U.S. medical residency" .

Any one have an idea what's the point of this ? ; sounds strange and stupid with my respect.

Regards,

Regards,
I think this is an obsevership program which's structured for IMG who come to US to know about the health system only.
I belive these students or physicians come under tourist visa which they can do this course during 3 m. of their stay in US.
Cleveland clinic has such program for IMG who don't intend to pursue US residency but they do have another program for IMG who will apply for US residency.

Thank you for your reply , I appreciate it.
I still didn't get it why such requirement. I'm seeking for a residency program, but the purpose of my observership is to have a US C.E only. Honesty or dishonestly about the applicant's intention can be harmful?!!

Sometimes honesty can be harmful. But i think that with applying to observership they will look to ur applications paperwork, they may ask if any USMLE steps have been taken, if you are currently involved in any medical paractice in ur country and what's ur visa status. I think all these things may give them hints if you are applying to US residency or not!
This is just my opinion, i'm not sure though

Thank you guyz for your replies and sharing your opinion

For international medical graduates , observership is the only choice for them. I searched enough and most hospitals tell me that you can't take clerkship as a medical student (((
