Default One year of residency at your home country .. will these strengthen your credentials

Hi guys ..

does one year of residency at your home country strengthen your credentials ??
I passed all steps with scores 230 step1 -239 step 2 - passed cs first attempt and done with 4 monthes of elective rotations in U.S
due to crisis in Syria (my home country ) ( U.S. embassy does not issue visas for Syrians due to Crisis here )and due to the delayed graduation this yeae I decided
not to apply this match season .. so I have time to start residency at my home country .. will this strengthen my credentials
and by the way do u think that my credentials are enough to obtain an IM position at a respectable community program ??

Thank you dude ^_^
What about university programs , do I have a hope?
Actually I am seeking a good large program, University or community ,whatever , cuz fellowship after residency is an important issue to me ^_^
I know it is too early to think about fellowship , but this is me
maybe I am a little bit obssessive this is not wrong as I think

univ programs are always hard for imgs (even w/ 250s). but you can apply to a few if you want to. there's always chances for everyone.
being in a community program doesn't always mean you can't get a fellowship, coz there's a lot of comm programs that have fellowships on their own. so either which, univ or comm, it would get you a fellowship if you really want to subspecialize.
