Hey don't get discouraged. You may be late this time, but don't feel down if God forbids you don't get any interviews. (I have seen many late applicants being filtered out because they don't have results before start of matching season, but next time with complete application they got matched).
Try getting Externships/Observerships in US, look for any contacts here.
Hope this helps.

.....other option for you is to also try for pediatrics. they have low score requirements. You can gain some good experience in Peds here or in your home country. That should go a long way in helping you get residency in US.

Peds is competitive this year. In fact everything is competitive.

The OP should get ECFMG certified and should have USCE. if not chances are close to Zero as I stated before.

YES 250+ on steps, not 210

but NOT ecfmg certified when they applied with 1 month of observerships(which hardly counts for USCE), please do not spread rumors/anxiety around if you do not know what's going on.... match is competitive every year....do not scare off people without any reason!!

The OP is in a different position then people I know.

Yes, we all know 250+ on steps is almost a 101% match if you ace the interview but USCE and ECFMG certification matter to some programs.

The match is competitive, I understand where you coming from. But when yoru scores are low, and you have now ECFMG, no USCE your not going to match that 101% is close to 1%.

Star agreed..

I agree with shima. If someone asks for an opinion, we should give them a neutral opinion. There is one hell of a difference between an opinion and encouragement. My opinion for this applicant would be that he has a low chance this year, and he should wait another year, give step3 to compensate for low scores and to get as much usce as he can.
And the encouragement would be, 'you can do it mate, anything is possible if u are motivated'
