Question Greyhound Buses and Amtrak Trains

Generally speaking, how good are these services for traveling during the interview season. Especially for IMGs who can not drive here.

Thanks

Not a fan of either, unless its a short trip like Chicago to Detroit, and NY/DC to DC or Philly. No longer than a 4 hr trip, just not worth it.

Thanks for the response. Just want to clarify when you say not worth for longer trips, do you mean in terms of they don't run on time or something? I was planning to use the bus service for traveling from Gainesville and Ft. Lauderdale in Florida. Cost wise it is less than half the cheapest flight ticket available right now.

Ok that will not be bad, since it'll be about 6-7 hrs max I guess for that route on a bus, considering there'll be stops. It depends on how much time you have. Sometimes cheaper isnt always better. For example taking the bus in the north during the dead of the winter wont always be wise, cause there may be a snow storm.
Spending 10hrs on a bus to go for an IV can be distracting, one will end up being sore and tired, and it can affect how the IV ends up going.

Greyhound might get you a bit sore after your journey but Amtrak is seriously good for long journeys.

I liked Amtrak !
It was a long journey and I enjoyed it. I took it basically because it was cheaper than the flight..considering the luggage I had.
They were an hour late to reach the destination. But an hour late for a 21 hour journey isnt much.

What about prices?

What about traveling from coast to coast?.. vs taking a flight?

Is it comfortable?.. i noticed there is a pass for certain amount of stops, but i did not understand how it works
