Why are you wasting your time asking this.... get a move on, and apply now. It is not too late. Unless you are applying without some scores, and with missing LORs then, its a huge risk, but you can still apply if you have good scores.

This is for IM.
If you had applied to less than 100 programs, then for sure apply.
If its already more than 200, then I am not sure.

Default FM?

What about applying to FM without having any FM experience or LoRs?
I have good scores, but all my USCE and LoRs are for IM, so I applied to IM only.

Yeah, that I don't know. Most of my letter writers recommended me for IM and so the FM programs can easily say that, what am I doing there. Anyways I did apply to a few FM programs, just to be on the safe side. Don't know if its a wise decision or not.

it is worth a try, you never know..
but i have to say FM PDs are very keen these days. i was asked where i had been invited for other IVs (specific hospitals) during my interview 2 days ago. i can tell from her face & smile she knew i was applying to IM too. bcoz my 3USCEs are all IM.

So, as I thought, it's just going to be a waste of money and time.
They are looking for applicants who look dedicated to FM, I guess.
