Star 2013 Integrated Thoracic/Vascular Residency Matching Applicants

I think we are too chickened out as IMGs to even start a thread for top slots like the 5 year integrated thoracic surgery programs and integrated vascular surgery programs............

Come on guys! these are not necessarily the exclusive realm of AMGs......, we also should be competing................

So, let me be the first to break this myth that "ordinary IMGs who need a visa are not even considered"...........................

Got my second IV (first was to a GS categorical university program in Tx) to an integrated 5 year vascular surgery program from one of the top university hospitals in the East.......

You can look up my profile on GS match forums, nothing extraordinary, old IMG from India, so completed residency in Europe+ some research, a little more than average scores........., most of all God on my side (my faith in God has brought me thus far despite overwhelming odds.......)

"nothing extraordinary".. you're quite humble & modest doc mark. good on you.

if i may say, one of the most qualified IMG (excluding caribb img) applicant for surgery in this forum.

kudos on the thoracic/vascular invite. that's a bad ass specialty, really looked up to those cardiothoracics ever since.

Can't say those creds are modest..Many AMGs will drool over such a CV...being a fellow IMG needing Visa,i feel proud that someone with such creds is applying for US residency..its no big deal you will match in a top program, but the question is where:roll eyes:
I am a fellow Indian and will not participate in this year's Match..but can you tell me plz where from India do you belong??Such an amazing credential..can't help but being poky

Good thinking, I wish that every IMG had such a positive mindset, but at least let us set the trend for now. In the same vein it would be great to see new threads on radiology & dermatology matches among IMGs.............
