Can I apply for residency and fellowship at the same time?

I am an old IMG and I want to take all chances

Is this legal or possible?

I want to ask if I get surgery fellowship before residency. After that, I apply for surgery residency...Does fellowship help me too much ?
Is it elgibile to practise surgery ( or any field) although I did not enter residency even I did fellowship?

You can't get surgical fellowships before finishing your residency and USMLE Step 3.

Yes, you can
However please note that you have to create separate ERAS accounts and you have to send your documents to different mailing addresses and you have to purchase a different token for your fellowship application.

Thanx for reply Mary,
But I know somone who told me that he got research fellowship in surgical subspeciality..but he did not enter residency program nor complete USMLE steps !!
Is this possible ?? it is the same fellowship after residency?
I hope someone could explain that to me...& what are the types of the researches & fellowships?
