Rheumatology/Orthopedics Can an IMG get into Orthopedics!

what should I do to get matched in orthopedics ? I am an international medical student with no green card or u.s citizenship?is that possible to get matched in orthopedics?
what scores required?
what us clinical experience required?
what other things needed in application?

Its a very rough road, and in all honesty, I would say no it is MOST LIKELY not possible. You can read this thread here for more responses.

You need to be the absolute best of the best. 260s or higher on step scores, tons of research and publications. i would say that you need at least 12 months of usce's. get great letters from surgeons and orthopods from the US.

just heard of an ortho guy, pretty average on its field, making 4.6 million a year. do you think they will let an img close to this

An amg good friend of mine with high scores, great school, went unmatched!! Had to now do research and reapply before eventually matching.

A Carib-img close friend who matched, had to do 4 yrs of research before being able to match, and it was due to heavy contacts.

Again I still say as a non US citizen with no contacts, even if you get a 260+ on both steps, ortho has about a 75% matching rate for everyone, and the road is ridiculously hard.
