Illinois Illinois Psychiatry Rotation Requirement

I have an interview for Internal med residency in Illinois.
In the email, they are asking to bring documentation for 4 weeks rotation in psychiatry, however I only have 2 weeks during medschool.
does that mean I am not eligible for residency in IL?

please advise!

The State of Illinois requires that you have done 4 weeks of psychiatry rotation in your medical school in order to be eligible for temporary license (which is the license that you will get during your residency).

Therefore, if you have not done 4 weeks then you cannot get into residency in Illinois. No matter what residency.

California has a similar rule (80 hours or credits of psych rotation in med school).

Many IMGs get away with this by asking their med school to say 4 weeks instead of 2 weeks, for example some community and public health rotations can be counted as psychiatry if you have good connections in your medical school to help you in that.
