Surgery Chances in surgery residency??

Hi guys!!
i had question regarding my chances for a general surgery match by next year.
Credentials -

step1 - 262
step2 ck - 266
Step2 cs - passed
step 3 still to take
research/publications - 2 national and working on getting a couple with a scheduled us research

Here is my question what do you guys think about my chances in a general surgery residency match.? and what about prelim too??
Is there anything else (apart from my research ) that i can do to improve my chances?

You will be fine. Do your research in US and you will be a very competitive candidate for surgery. Don't listen to people who tell you otherwise.

Good Luck!

apply to both categorical general and preliminary surgery and to the programs/states where you might find more imgs in surgery obviously.

since you have a few lors from surgery and did a few rotations, that's fantastic!!! follow up with your past surgery preceptors and seek their advice as well.

see if you can keep on doing more surgery related externships or something research related in surgery over the months. take step 3 when able.

see what you can do with the american college of surgeons (get a membership) and check on upcoming conferences and event : facs.org
