Question What are my chances?!!

I got steps 1 and 2 CK scores of 249 and 214 respectively, what are my chances to match to psychiatry?

you know you have good chances, but you also know that this is a stupid question. matching is way more about than scores!

I am a 2009 graduate and will mostly apply for 2015 match because i have to finish my general surgery residency here first, does that affect my profile much?!

Aww, almost 2016* I am diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, does that help me to match to psychiatry? or it has an adverse impact?

I personally feel it is not a good idea to reveal to PDs such thing.

Yes, I think your scores are very appealing, specially for Psychiatry.
Get some experience on the field and some Psych LORs and the invites will rain

I will agree with mitsua. Your scores are appealing for many Psychiatry programs, but most will need/ask for some experience in Psych

Default what are my chances for IM?

My step 1 score is a bit low-- 215 (91 on old scale) and step 2 CK is 244. I don't have any research experience but I recently did a Medical mission trip to India in which we were at an AIDs and TB clinic and also experienced some village medicine. I plan on finding more volunteer opportunities. All my rotations were in the US, only basic sciences was in Poland. What are my chances for IM residency? I was debating between Family Med and IM, however I'm leaning toward IM in case I want to specialize later. Please help!

you have pretty good chance for both IM & FM residency, since you did all your rotations here in US (much like a caribb IMG) & your scores are great, not to mention your rural medicine volunteer work w/c is very fragrant to FM programs. relax.. have a gut feeling your good. you will match.
btw i don't have research too but still got a couple of invites.
hope this helps.

my score in step one is 241, will give ck in july...tried for electives but could not make it.
Should i consider entering 2014 match without USCE? or wait for next year and try to get some LOR's? coz i will be done with my steps in august 2013
