List Ranking Primary and Categorical of Same Program!

I had applied to both categorical and primary care in a program. The interview was kinda general and I didn't know if it was for categorical or primary care. Now in my ROL, should I rank both separately? Or just one?

I think that you should talk to program coordinator about it!

If you are okay with being in ANY of those, then you got nothing to lose by ranking both!

If I'm not mistaken, I think both programs will have different codes on the Rank Order List. One is for a Prelim position and one will be for a Categorical position. When you look them up to make your ROL, they should have different codes.
So you should rank them in the order of your preference.

Thanks guys, yes the program is close to my house and I don't mind being in any of them.
I'm talking about primary care and categorical not preliminary program.

Again, the same thing. Both tracks will have different codes on NRMP. Even if it's the same IM program.

Yes they do, but the question is that should I rank both of them, since I'm not sure which one did I interview with ?

Agree with witecloud, you lose nothing by ranking them both. You could technically even rank programs where you didn't interview, so it doesn't matter. Rank them how you like them. The question will be, would you rather match into a primary care track or into a standard categorical? That will dictate the order in which you will rank them. If you have multiple programs that have PC tracks, some people rank primary care tracks first and then the categoricals (eg PC-X, PC-Y, Cat-X, Cat-Y, whereas other people rank them mixed (eg. Cat-X, PC-X, Cat-Y, PC-Y).

It would be nice, however, finding out with the PC whether that was considered an interview for the primary care track at all, because there is a chance that you will not be ranked for the PC track.

* I had an experience where I interviewed for the standard categorical track at a program, and also sat down with the primary care PD at the end of the day. Although it was very informal and I don't know if they're ranking ME in both tracks, I know I will definitely rank both tracks.
