Default You have a decent chance

I think you have a decent chance at getting a residency esp in peds and psychiatry.

You have shown a dramatic improvement with your step 2 score which i think programs would take note of.

What i would advise at this point if your not looking to match this year and are working towards next year is that you get lots of USCE and publications in your specialty of interest.

if you have oodles of time on your hands you can look at the average scores for people in your chosen specialty at the link below

http://www.nrmp.org/data/resultsbystate2012.pdf

I wish you all the best. You're almost there. Don't give up now.

I think that if you build up your CV by getting USA experience in Peds, and then your subsequent LORs, you will get interviews.

Here is a more clarifying post about Step 1 scores and specialties:

you have good chance for peds & psych (do lots of psych rotations)..

(no sugar-coating just so one wudn't waste time & money) honestly , w/ anesth if w/ connections is possible but if w/o, still possible but very very hard.

specialties under the R.O.A.D.S. acronym needs 240+ scores on top of a good credential/background (research, previous training, publications, etc)

You can def match into peds/pysch just keep working hard and don't lose hope!!! Anesthesia, that is a tough match in general especially for IMG's. Lik eprevious posts scores have to be reasonably high. If it is your dream you will have to make some serious connections, you would prob have to take a year or two and do research and make connections. Best of luck I am sure you will end up where you are supposed to be.
