Certificate can attending send lor after he retires?

i did an elective recently in an american institution, and now im back prepping for steps, but i heard recently that the attending who had told me he would give me a lor, is going to retire soon.

he has already given me a lor, but told me i should contact him when im going to apply, so that he can modify it according to my cv changes and then upload it after waiving my right to see it.

So how will this work if he retires? will he still be able to upload his lor?

could someone reply pls?

ya he can. Make sure he writes the LOR using the letter head pf the hospital before he retires. He can upload this letter at any point of tme as long as it is "dated" at the time he was working.

If he does it later, he still can but you cannot count on universities/programs taking a letter without a letter head/ letter writer without a designation seriously.
