Thumbs Up Target Step 2 score to get EM Match

Hello all, this is my inaugural post on here figuring there are a lot of good peeps out there that may help me out! So im a Carib MG and I got a 218 on step 1. I worked and volunteered in EMS and in the ER for 4 years prior to Med School, and im currently doing rotations. What should I aim for on Step 2 to be considered somewhat competitive for EM. I know ppl say aim as high as u can, but those of u with some experience maybe throw out some numbers for me so I can gauge myself. Also how important are LORs Your audition Elective and so on. Thanks!

Average CK score for an IMG that matched into EM was 223 (NRMP Charting Outcomes 2011). I wouldn't say that should be your target, clearly higher is always better.

Looking at this years unfilled rate for EM, PRE-SOAP.

EM had 3 spots (out of 1744) left unfilled.

Make a guess on what your score should be! (>235?).

Also, you'll need an EM Specific LOR (sLOR).
