Unhappy PLEASE HELP! Residency Selection CONSIDERATIONS??

Hi guys, I am an IMG from India and I have yet to complete my internship portion of my MBBS course.

My main question is what are the most important attributes that aResidency Selection committee values?

Do they care most about/how much do they care about:
  • Time taken to get the MBBS Degree/Any degree
  • Time taken to Apply for Matching after getting degree
  • USMLE Scores
  • Observerships (after completing MBBS)
  • Rotating internships/clerkship (before completing MBBS)
  • Other

What is the importance they to give each of these attributes?
Are there any other considerations they give I am not aware of?

The major dilemma I find myself in is in determining what my NEXT STEP is. I have completed the Academic portion of my degree, now I am trying to decide if I should work on getting my degree first by finishing my rotating internship, or if I should keep working on my Step 1 preparation, find clerkships in america, and then finish my rotating internship.

If anyone has gone through a similar situation as I have, or if anyone has any information pertaining to this topic, I'd really appreciate your input or if you private message me, I'd love to talk further.

Is that more important than getting my degree "on time" and applying for the match "on time"?

People out there keep telling me conflicting information regarding what is most important: time taken to graduate vs time taken to apply for the match after graduating vs etc etc... My head is going to explode.

And what kind of clinicals am I eligible for before vs after I graduate?
